Korean soap ‘The Divine Hero' will shoot episode in Hawaii
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - If you are looking for a job in TV, a Korean soap opera that will soon be filming here in Hawaii is looking to hire some extras. "The Divine Hero" will star Korean actor Song il Kook playing a Hawaii-raised orphan who lives to become an international crime fighter.
The production is slated to shoot for a week in mid-February. Hawaii will only be featured in the first episode of the 24-part series. Plan B Pictures and Beauty Touch Productions, the show's collaborative producers, say the episode will help promote Hawaii to their vast audience.
"Korean viewers themselves, once they see something like a location or a certain activity, once they see it, they realize that's the place they want to be" said David Lim of Beauty Touch Productions.
A casting call for extras will be announced shortly.
The program is scheduled to air sometime in march, but only on the Munwha broadcast network in South Korea. You'll have to look for the Korean region-3 DVD if you want to watch the program after it becomes available.

| This weekend i stayed at The Ihilani Resort in Ko Olina....Song il Kook is quite tall...and followed around by quite a bit of staff...they had dinner last night at Azul, a restaurant in the hotel. |
